Resumen: En este ensayo se presenta una reflexión sobre la
situación actual que guarda el movimiento en pro del establecimientode
estándares de contenido y desempeño curricular en el campo de la
estocástica. Se examinó la importanciaque se otorga a la enseñanza de
estas disciplinas y sus mecanismos para medir el desempeño de los
estudiantesen ellas por parte de dos naciones que han llevado a cabo
reformas educativas de grandes dimensiones. Paralelamente,se hace un
planteamiento para conducir una investigación sistemática que permita
caracterizar la prácticaeducativa actual en estas disciplinas y obtener
elementos de prueba para crear recursos y programas de formacióndel
profesorado acordes a las necesidades de una cultura estocástica en
ellos y en sus estudiantes.

Abstract:
This essay presents a reflection on the current situation that keeps the
movement for the establishment of standardsof content and performance
curriculum in the field of the stochastic. There was examined the
importance it attachesto the teaching of these disciplines and their
mechanisms to measure the performance of students in them by two Nations
that have carried out large-scale educational reforms. At the same time,
it is an approach to conduct a systematic research to characterize the
current educational practice in these disciplines and obtain evidence to
create resources and teacher training programmes according to the needs
of a stochastic culture in them and their students.
